The Michigan Natural Shoreline Partnership hosts the Shoreline and Shallows Conference biennially and then joins with other lake organization partners to host the

Michigan Inland Lakes Convention in alternate years.

Shoreline & Shallows 2025: Restoring Resiliency to Shorelines

The Shoreline and Shallows Conference is a biennial event that brings together professionals, researchers, agency staff, and others interested in protecting lake shorelines. This year's theme is "Restoring Resiliency to Shorelines." Presentations will cover a variety of topics including shoreline characteristics that make up a resilient fishery, rebuilding shorelines through plants, resilient plant communities of the Great Lakes, practical ways to get more natural shorelines installed, and reptiles and amphibians of Michigan's inland lakes and how best to protect them through natural shoreline designs.
